  18. The call waiting tone will cause some modems to drop the line with the factory
  19. default settings.  Since yours does not, you could take a look in your manual and
  20. set the S register which controls the duration that the modem waits after loss of
  21. carrier before hanging up.  This is S10 on USR modems.  Reduce this number,
  22. which is often set at 0.7 seconds by default.
